BT volunteers have completed a make-over at the Ulster Cancer Foundation’s (UCF) charity shop at 374 Upper Newtownards Road, Ballyhackamore Belfast, transforming it into vibrant, spacious and inviting premises for local shoppers.

BT has teamed up with Northern Ireland’s leading local cancer charity, UCF, to revamp five of their charity shops over five months as part of a radical make-over programme. BT volunteers are involved in painting and decorating, joinery and maintenance work as well as changes to the store layout, in-store branding and merchandising.

Carmel O’Connor, Head of Corporate Responsibility, BT said, “As an employer committed to Corporate Responsibility I am delighted to use this challenge as a very practical team building opportunity. Not only does this enhance the Ballyhackamore shop, but it has provided colleagues at various levels within the company, including board level, with an opportunity to display leadership and communication skills and bring a sense of achievement to the group – everyone really enjoyed the experience. It also further strengthens our partnership with UCF and commitment to supporting the fantastic work they do right across Northern Ireland.”

Hilary Scott, Retail Development Manager, UCF said, “Thanks to all the BT volunteers who helped to redecorate and enhance our charity shop in Ballyhackamore. Our win-win partnership with BT adds value to both BT employees and our increasing shop network, ensuring that they continue to be a must-stop shop on our High Streets
